Supermarine Spitfire Art Print - 609 Squadron

As one of the most successful units of the Battle of Britain, 609 Sqn is a favourite with many artists. Here one of the squadrons Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I is shown attacking a Messerschmitt Bf.110. The much vaunted and up to that point successful design, championed by Goering was to be found wanting when faced by the far more agile Hurricane and Spitfire.
