Hawker Hurricane’s of 151 Wing prepare for action from their airfield at Vaenga. From here 81 and 134 squadron were tasked with defending the ports of Murmansk, Arkhangel’sk and Petsamo. The VVS was to obtain nearly 3000 Hurricanes from 1941 onwards, the first being those used by 151 Wing after their crews returned home in November of that year.
